| As you know, life after a TBI is very different than before. I sustained my TBI in a car accident in 1979. Since then I have worked extremely hard to make my life better and more productive. My goal still remains, to raise awareness of this silent epidemic and to share my book and other experiences with those who can benefit from it.

| This book is avaliable for free online to help encourage people around the world that you can do pretty much anything if you want to and that life can be a fun filled adventure. |
| Over the years, I have had the amazing experience of being able to travel the world and see many of its incredible locations all over this fine globe. In my adventures, I have tried my best to record what I saw, where I went, and how I got around in an effort to help others understand these places a bit better and hopefully entice everyone to go out and explore the places they always dreamed of. In my writings I hope to give you just enough information to light that fire in you to explore on your own. If you would like more information, or even to swap stories of your own, please feel free to email me at Domonic@eXtremeAbilities.com. And, keep an eye out for more and more entries to come! There is so much in this world to explore, and so much to learn. Life is a journey! Live it! |
| Hi! I'm Jasmine. I'm here to share my love of travelling with you wonderful people. When I was very young I was in a car accident that left me with a spinal cord injury at the c6-c7 level. This poses some challenges, but most can be overcome with determination. Since I was young I've always had the desire to travel and in recent years I've been making my way around the world. I studied Classical Languages (Honors) at university, hence all the posts on Italy. |
| 'An account of dauntless travel in a wheelchair is a hugely impressive book'. Former journalist Ken Haley's remarkable book is a record of two years spent travelling through Central Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The itinerary of 41 countries would be gruelling enough for most of us but Haley undertook this odyssey alone and in the wheelchair.

| Hi there! Thank you for popping in and taking a look. I'm Michelina and have been using a wheelchair now since my car crash in 1989. I have been 'Pushing Through Life' with an L2 level of spinal cord injury and showing the world that there is more to life than just my injury. So here you will find posts about my travel adventures, day to day life insights and my love for writing, so I've added some poems that have come to me over the years. I plan to post in each category once a month, at least to start with. I hope you enjoy it and come on this journey with me! |

| On 10 2006 September Vasile Stoica completed a grueling summer-long Pan-European trek, alone and using only the push power of his hands in a manual wheelchair. What did he do to celebrate his 5'250 KM (3,250 mile) adventure? After a 5 day break, he began the next leg of his journey, a 2'200 KM (1,350mile) trek from Spain to Dusseldorf, Germany where he plans to arrive on 18 October 2006 in time for the Rehacare Disability Exhibition. |
| After I had my paraplegic spinal injury at age 18 I thought my travelling dreams were over and so focused on my career. After years of study I finally became a veterinarian. While being a vet is a huge passion of mine, I felt slightly jealous of my friends who were solo backpacking around Europe for months on end! I thought I would never be able to achieve this dream because of my disability. However one day I woke up thought ‘dammit’, quit my job and bought my ticket and thus the goal to backpack solo in a wheelchair was born.
I started writing this blog so that I could share things I found useful travelling in a wheelchair, places that I found accessible, places that were not and anything else I learned along the way.I hope that if you are a person with a disability wanting to travel (solo or with friends, backpacking or in hotels) that my story can help and motivate you to do so and prove that travelling is not just limited to the able bodied – anything is possible.
Happy travelling.
