ADAPTIVE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE SPORTS - NEW MOBILITY ARTICLE 1144 views USA
The popularity of outdoor adventure sports is massive and continues growing at a fast clip. As an outdoor adventure sport enthusiast myself, I believe this popularity stems from being in the beauty of nature, combined with heightened experiences — flying through jungle canopies, tapping into the power of waves or white water rivers, soaring in the air like an eagle or free-falling while suspended a mile above the earth. In addition to the immediate “WOW!” factor, these experiences create a very positive and profound effect — adrenalin flowing, senses heightened. Emotional baggage vanishes and you enter a Zen state of being fully in the moment — something that stays with you and gives you a new perspective. Intrigued? Here is a look at certain outdoor adventure sports that are fully accessible, even with very limited arm movement. You can try them without purchasing any additional gear. And you don’t have to be a superjock to do them. If they grab you, you can learn how to do them on your own.

BJOERN ESER & 'THE ACTIVE AMPUTEE' website
I am Bjoern Eser, the creator of The Active Amputee. I am a father of three amazing children, a husband to an equally amazing wife, a thankful cancer survivor, an outdoor enthusiast, a passionate development practitioner and a very active above-the-knee amputee.
I have set up The Active Amputee as a resource page from amputees for amputees. It aims to inform, it aims to inspire and it aims to engage. Nothing more and nothing less. It‘s as simple as that.
At the moment The Active Amputee publishes a new post once a week.

LONELY PLANET ACCESSIBLE TRAVEL PHRASEBOOK website
All travellers will get more out of their trip by being able to speak a few words of the local language, but for people with a disability it’s often vital to be able to explain your particular needs. Since standard phrasebooks are unlikely to contain the language you need to talk about needs around disability we’ve gathered together some disability-specific words and phrases and translated them into as many different languages as we practically could. Although things are slowly changing for the better, there are still plenty of barriers to travel for people with a disability – language doesn’t have to be yet another.

JAIMEN HUDSON - 'THE VIEW IS BETTER FROM UP HERE!' website
I have always been passionate about the outdoors, as a youth my days were filled with activities like riding dirt bikes, skateboarding, surfing and scuba diving. Learning to dive at age 10 only added to my love of the ocean. In 2008 I had an accident that left me a quadriplegic and in 2014 I became interested in drone photography and videography, although I wasn't sure I would be able to use the remote controller due to my reduced hand function. Since then though I've been lucky to have my work featured in many prominent media outlets and publications and have also won the Western Australia 'Young Achiever Award' in 2018. I hope you enjoy what you see...!
