DAVID HALL 1825 views AUST
David Hall(born 1970) is a world champion wheelchair tennis player who has been referred to as Australia’s greatest ever wheelchair tennis player. For David, it all began sometime after his injury (double leg amputee) at age 16 when he was looking through the local paper and saw a picture of a man in a wheelchair playing tennis. Inspired, Hall began to play and entered his first wheelchair tennis competition, the 'Albury-Wodonga Classic', in 1988. This led to him competing in his first Australian Open in February 1989. Playing in the C division, Hall won. The following year, Hall participated in his first international competition and turned professional in 1993. 1995 saw Hall relocate to the United States. The year culminated with Hall winning the US Open Singles title and being ranked number one in the world. Read on to share more of David's journey and experiences...

NEW MOBILITY MAGAZINE 'RANDY SNOW - PLAYING THE MOMENT' 2594 views USA
You've heard it before: "The first few years of my disability were so scary I did very little and ran away from everything." You know the feeling: the trauma of sudden disability that drops on you like an anvil. But these words come from a man who went on to be selected six times to the U.S. Wheelchair Basketball Team, win 10 U.S. Open Wheelchair Tennis titles and three medals in three different Paralympic sports, something no Olympian has ever done before or since. This man also won the Jack Gerhardt Award (equivalent to the Heisman Trophy for wheelers), was inducted into the Wheelchair Sports Hall of Fame and was Speaker of the Year for Toastmasters. Yes, Toastmasters--you've got to hang up the old jock strap sometime, even if you're Randy Snow."

LONELY PLANET ACCESSIBLE TRAVEL PHRASEBOOK website
All travellers will get more out of their trip by being able to speak a few words of the local language, but for people with a disability it’s often vital to be able to explain your particular needs. Since standard phrasebooks are unlikely to contain the language you need to talk about needs around disability we’ve gathered together some disability-specific words and phrases and translated them into as many different languages as we practically could. Although things are slowly changing for the better, there are still plenty of barriers to travel for people with a disability – language doesn’t have to be yet another.

JAIMEN HUDSON - 'THE VIEW IS BETTER FROM UP HERE!' website
I have always been passionate about the outdoors, as a youth my days were filled with activities like riding dirt bikes, skateboarding, surfing and scuba diving. Learning to dive at age 10 only added to my love of the ocean. In 2008 I had an accident that left me a quadriplegic and in 2014 I became interested in drone photography and videography, although I wasn't sure I would be able to use the remote controller due to my reduced hand function. Since then though I've been lucky to have my work featured in many prominent media outlets and publications and have also won the Western Australia 'Young Achiever Award' in 2018. I hope you enjoy what you see...!
