"With 18 hoops and an additional one used for a tiebreaker, a Bankshot station is reminiscent of the miniature-golf course in your favourite seaside resort. Just like that activity or even a skill-related video game, Bankshot starts off at an easy level. With a straightahead bank shot off a conventional backboard at the first station, the game gets going slowly at first".
"Former Phoenix Suns player Neal Walk works for the National Basketball Association (NBA) team and gives inspirational talks from a wheelchair a device he hopes he will one day no longer need. In March 1987 Walk woke up one morning to discover he couldn't stand up straight without holding on to something. When he tried to walk, his legs dragged. Doctors discovered a tumour in his spinal cord. Walk opted for surgery, and when he awoke he was given the news: The surgery did indeed cause the loss of the use of his legs. Walk says he never contemplated suicide or got seriously depressed".
"Teams from throughout the world headed to Japan in search of victory and that magical cup of gold. The 2002 Gold Cup was outstanding. Large crowds filled the gymnasium daily, cheering equally for all teams, which produced exciting basketball".
"The Walker Cup is more than a basketball tournament! It's a community spirit embracing world-class athletes and leaving marks for future generations. Are they really in wheelchairs asked Megan Litisha Roach? It seems to me they haven't missed a shot yet".
The 21-year-old Canadian is a bona fide phenomenon. He's as fast as anyone on the court. He shoots 3-pointers like most athletes shoot free throws only better. When he moves with the ball, even with a defender all over him, he appears to be one with his wheelchair. His ability to spin, cut, and pivot with the ball as well, able-bodied-like!
