TURNING POINT 'Life Beyond The Sidewalk' 1490 views USA
Turning POINT (Paraplegics On Independent Nature Trips) was founded in 1979 by Michael "Shorty" Powers. After an injury at age 17 left Shorty without the use of his legs, he began looking for opportunities to become involved in the outdoor recreational activities that he had always loved. He found no organized activities that were available to people who had major mobility impairments. Not willing to give up his love of fishing, kayaking, scuba diving and hunting, Shorty established Turning POINT to assure that outdoor activities were readily available to people with many types of physical challenges. Turning POINT is a nonprofit organization designed to teach people with mobility impairments the skills necessary to fully enjoy the outdoors, and to provide free or low cost activities. Turning POINT provides the encouragement and support needed for people who have major physcial challengnes in life to fully participate in the adventure of living.

CREATING ABILITY 10676 views USA
Once upon a time, "Adaptive Kayaking/Canoeing" meant foam, duct tape and a super-stable kayak (which generally means it is as wide as it is long). The support was minimal, the set-up took hours and the paddling was more work than fun. We're doing our best to change all of that by designing paddling gear that gives all people the ability to get out on the water - seating, paddles, outriggers, etc.

CROCODILE KAYAK TROLLEYS & OUTRIGGERS 692 views AUST

Note all other existing trolley technology requires you to lift the kayak to engage it with the trolley; that is where gross back problems begin to spoil your kayaking (unless you are a 20 year old weight lifter) Super–easy effortless launching and landing of your kayak. You can forget about lifting and dragging it into the water and the again when you return to the beach. The wheel members remain with the kayak throughout the entire experience – from the time it comes off your roof-rack until it returns back to your vehicle at the conclusion of the expedition CROCODILE becomes part of your kayak.

LONELY PLANET ACCESSIBLE TRAVEL PHRASEBOOK website
All travellers will get more out of their trip by being able to speak a few words of the local language, but for people with a disability it’s often vital to be able to explain your particular needs. Since standard phrasebooks are unlikely to contain the language you need to talk about needs around disability we’ve gathered together some disability-specific words and phrases and translated them into as many different languages as we practically could. Although things are slowly changing for the better, there are still plenty of barriers to travel for people with a disability – language doesn’t have to be yet another.

JAIMEN HUDSON - 'THE VIEW IS BETTER FROM UP HERE!' website
I have always been passionate about the outdoors, as a youth my days were filled with activities like riding dirt bikes, skateboarding, surfing and scuba diving. Learning to dive at age 10 only added to my love of the ocean. In 2008 I had an accident that left me a quadriplegic and in 2014 I became interested in drone photography and videography, although I wasn't sure I would be able to use the remote controller due to my reduced hand function. Since then though I've been lucky to have my work featured in many prominent media outlets and publications and have also won the Western Australia 'Young Achiever Award' in 2018. I hope you enjoy what you see...!
