'CURB FREE!!' with CORY LEE USA
Welcome to my travel blog, 'Curb Free' (2017 best travel blog award). Here on the site, I hope to share my experiences as a disabled traveler with you and many tips as well. Have you ever wondered: How can I fly as a wheelchair user? Which hotels are the most accessible? What beaches have powered beach wheelchairs? How do I charge my wheelchair in a foreign country? What cities are the most wheelchair friendly around the world? Check out the Facebook page as well! If any of these thoughts have ever crossed your mind, you’re in the right place. On Curb Free with Cory Lee, my goal is to show you how to travel, where to travel, and most importantly, why travel as a person with a disability. Check out the Facebook page as well!
GENERAL DISABILITY
'SITTING IMAGES' USA
Following a diving accident travelling Australia in 82, I had a quadriplegic C4/5 injury. I was paralysed from the shoulders down and left with no grip in my hands. Unable to pick up my camera, I gave up photography for a year but then realised I was still seeing pictures, choosing images in my head. The only thing I lacked was the physical ability to use a camera. I realised this was a ridiculous reason for giving up and I wrote to the manufacturer of my camera and asked if they could help with adaptations. To my delight they replied positively and so started the process of taking pictures again.

COBIE ANN MOORE AUST
Cobie Ann Moore is an Artist and Designer living and working in Sydney. She studied Design and Art Education at UNSW Art & Design graduating in 2015 with Honours in Design. Often, bright colours are used in the depiction of darker subject matter, using the contrast between colour and content to challenge traditional representations.

STACEY COPAS 'ACADEMY OF RESILIENCE' AUST
Stacey has not let a devastating accident that left her a quadriplegic and dependent on a wheelchair at 12 years old slow her down. Instead she picked up the pace and has used her life experience and personal philosophies to become Australia’s leading keynote speaker and facilitator on resilience and turning adversity into an asset, delivering keynote speeches, training, consulting and coaching to organisations such as Telstra, South East Water and CSIRO. More recently Stacey has added athletics to her repertoire after 22 years of inactivity to further stretch her comfort zones, becoming the first women in her classification to compete in Australia, and is training to qualify for the Paralympic Games. In her spare time you are likely to find Stacey in the nearest patch of sunshine with a book recharging her solar powers.

NATURALLY ACCESSIBLE NSW AUST
Our research in NSW has shown that a new approach to accessible bushwalking is needed. We can help more people get outdoors and go bushwalking by providing them with information so they can make a decision if a walk is suitable for them. It’s about moving away from a system where people are told they are either welcome, or not, based on the use of a wheelchair symbol. It’s about returning a sense of exploration, adventure and choice to how visitors interact with, and spend time in nature. We wanted to do this in a way that is not just limited to wheelchair users, but rather, also takes into account the similar needs of other types of mobility restrictions including older people, young families with prams, people with heart/lung conditions and so on. Currently, this project focuses on bushwalking, but we have also shown that it works on improving access to hard-roofed accommodation in National Parks, and believe that the same concept could apply to improving access to other environments and experiences. So far, we’ve had a bunch of fun and had the opportunity to meet some really amazing people working in this space. Check out these posts below for more details.

GUIDE TO BEACH WHEELCHAIRS by GRIT FREEDOM CHAIR
We think the GRIT Freedom Chair is pretty darn great - after all, we invented it! Even so, we know that it may not be the right choice for everyone which is why we think it's so important to provide information on all the different options out there. As we mentioned when we created our Complete Guide to All Terrain Wheelchairs, it's usually easy to find detailed information online comparing and contrasting big ticket items - like a flat screen television or a mountain bike - but we've noticed that there's not a lot of that type of information out there for the different categories of wheelchair. Since we've got summertime on our minds, we thought a roundup of beach wheelchairs might be a useful thing to put together.
