LEISURE AND OUTDOORS - SHOOTING - HUNTING
ORGANISATIONS PRODUCTS SOCIAL MEDIA | Our mission is to bring the entire accessible outside world into one place, to be an information source for everything outdoors: hunting, fishing, travel and all types of outdoor recreation. We want to connect individuals with the resources that will help them explore their abilities despite any challenges that may exist and to promote the opportunities that are out there waiting to be experienced. The objective is to be the first site and magazine created by, for and about the Able Sportsman and Woman! “Sometimes just getting out there is the most rewarding part.” |
| Welcome to Accessible Hunter. We believe the outdoors should be accessible to everyone regardless of their disability. Individuals with disabilities may require help or assistive devices to overcome their challenges, but that should not limit their outdoor experience. Please visit our blog ACCESSIBLE HUNTER for stories and information regarding individuals with disabilities enjoying the great outdoors, Hunting, Fishing and Shooting. |

| The Brisbane Gun Club once again hosted the Australian Disabled National Championships, this time over Easter 2002.
Shooters came from around Queensland, NSW and Victoria to take part in what has become an annual event on the Disabled Shooting Calendar. It was great to see the turnout for this shoot, a happier bunch of shooters you will never meet.? |
| The purpose of Buckmasters American Deer Foundation's Solutions for Adaptive Shooting video is to let people know that they can hunt and shoot with success, no matter how extensive their disability. Solutions for Adaptive Shooting presents physically challenged individuals from across the country who have devised ingenious ways to get back into the great outdoors with rifles, shotguns, pistols and crossbows. |
| I've had the opportunity to go on a lot of group hunts all over the United States and become friends with some of the people who lead these necessary causes. The following is a list of some of the ones I have been involved with and know to be legit, either by attending the actual event as a hunter, putting it together myself or being friends with the people in charge.
Keep in mind that the ones listed here are not the only ones. They are merely the clubs that I have had the pleasure of experiencing. There are many states that have some type of outdoor events for disabled hunters & fishermen. These will get you started. |
| Shooting is one of the finest and most versatile sports available to us. It's one of the few sports that doesn't limit participation. It can be enjoyed by men and women, by youngsters and senior citizens, and by individuals or members of a team. And it's a sport that can be enjoyed by persons with physical disabilities. |
| We are committed to producing the highest quality adaptive hunting and shooting equipment for all disabled outdoorsmen. Our goal is to help physically challenged people get back into doing the activities they love like hunting, shooting, fishing, archery, and ATV?s. Our company designs and manufactures activity trays, shooting rests for rifles, shotguns, pistols, crossbows, and compound bows, hand controls and lifts for ATV?s & much more. |
| I am a C 3-4 quad, without the use of hands or arms, and I have no problems at all zeroing in on target. With the SR-77 it's been great to get back into shooting again so now instead of watching while my friends shoot targets I can be part of it, a sport I love. The beautiful thing about the shooting rest is that you can go from shooting targets with an air rifle to hunting deer with a hi-powered with ease. The shooting rest is completely safe, using reasonable care, to both you and those with you.

| "In the September 2002 SPORTS 'N SPOKES, find out who took Top Gun honors and which teams finished first as the 2002 Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) National Trapshoot Circuit wound down at events in Florida and Wisconsin. And there's a report on the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Shooting Championships in Korea." |
| "Ask Jim Russell, of Fallbrook, Calif., about the combination of trapshooting and people with disabilities, and he'll quickly tell you this sport is one of the few in which wheelchair users and able-bodied individuals can compete using the same rules and essentially the same equipment. More importantly, he'll say it is clean, wholesome fun." |
| "Anyone who is present when someone with a physical challenge first picks up a bow and arrow and sets his or her sights on a deer knows that beginner's excitement. Sharing in that adrenaline rush is one of Charlie Pangle's job's perks."You're dealing with people who have been unable to fulfill a dream they've had because of an accident, illness, or a war." |
