| With a nickname like "Animal" you know right off Mark Turner is not your average waterskier. He lives in California, is an extremely talented and successful on the water and does not let his disability get in the way. Mark's not had the use of his legs since he was a baby.
At the age of 13, Mark's mother forced him onto a sit ski (adaptive waterski) on Donnor lake. He was so resistant and purposely fell over so he could quit, letting his mother know "told you I'd hate it, mom!" He tired it again the next day and it went a little better, and he agreed he'd keep it open for the future." |

In March 2001 I had a snowboard accident and broke my back. Now I'm paralysed from the waist down. Before this time I've always been in-line skating, snowboarding, skateboarding, and wakeboarding. Because my passion to do these sports is so big I started looking for a way to do my sports in an alternative way. The accident could not stop me from moving my borders. I find the most challenges in skiing and wakeboarding |
