| As a wheelchair user striving to become a nurse, Andrea Dalzell has been surrounded by doubt from day one. Nursing school administrators questioned her ability to complete the program. Hospital administrators told her insurance wouldn’t cover her. Faculty doubted her ability to safely administer the duties of the job. |

| Kelly’s skiing accident happened on February 18, 2006 on the second day of the Williams College Carnival. Starting number 12, Kelly came over a knoll and caught an edge on an icy patch. She fought to stay in the course but her ski edge grabbed and she was catapulted off the trail, striking a lift tower stanchion. She severely damaged her spinal cord injury at the T 7-8 level, fractured 4 ribs, fractured a vertebra in her neck, and a collapsed a lung. Kelly underwent 10 hours of immediate surgery to re-align and stabilize her spine at the Berkshire Medical Center.
After her first 2 weeks in the hospital, Kelly was transported to Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in Denver, Colorado, where she spent the next two and a half months undergoing rigorous rehabilitation for what would become her new life in a wheelchair. She left Craig ready to navigate life’s new challenges with the same tenacious spirit that had been the root of her prior athletic successes.
She works as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. |
| This is my personal web site. The reason for it is that
on the 10 August 1986 I broke my neck diving into shallow water. Now although paralysed from the neck down with a Spinal Cord Injury C3/4 complete I have managed to get back to a pretty normal and fulfilled life. The following pages contain information about various subjects that others, including physically disabled people may find interesting and perhaps helpful. For example, the computer has been more than just a helpful aid - it has enabled me to stretch my new found abilities.

| Rob Dempsey was involved in a motor vehicle accident after hitting a Kangaroo and loosing control of his Hilux on a country road in rural New South Wales. He was left a C3-C4 Quadriplegic, this hasn't stopped him from living an active life on the farm and getting out with his mates in the Aussie bush.
Space Drive technology by PARAVAN has allowed him to drive his modified VW Transporter and get around on the farm with his Polaris RZR. PME Auto Conversions are very proud to have helped Rob get back to living a productive and purposeful life on the farm |
| Farmer, pilot, inspirational speaker and best selling author. Sam's next goal is to become the first quadriplegic in the world to fly a helicopter. He is a C6/C7 quadriplegic, following a car accident in 1987 while jackarooing in the Northern Territory. He was only 19 years old and medical experts suggested his dream to be a farmer might now be too difficult. Despite that, he went home to the family farm and over the next ten years rebuilt his shattered life.

| The AgrAbility Project was created to assist people with disabilities employed in agriculture. The project links the Cooperative Extension Service at a land-grant university with a private nonprofit disability service organization to provide practical education and assistance that promotes independence in agricultural production and rural living. The AgrAbility Project assists people involved in production agriculture who work both on small and large operations. |

| Welcome to the Regional Disability Liaison Officers and Disability Coordination Officers National Website. | On the Central Coast of NSW, disabilities employment agency Job Centre Australia Ltd. (JCAL) has been working since August 2011 with the Saronbell Group of McDonald’s restaurants headed by Ron Mussali. This Job Centre and McDonald’s alliance has led to the placement of 207 people with a disability, injury or health condition into the Group’s 10 Central Coast restaurants. JCAL General Manager – Operations Brian Yates said the alliance had enabled these 200 people to gain valuable skills, building confidence and self-esteem in an environment that values diversity. |
| Kaleidoscope is an early intervention vocational rehabilitation programme dedicated to getting people who happen to have disabilities into great jobs they love. The programme undertakes vocational rehabilitation work with people far earlier in their rehabilitation and this, combined with a full talent and motivation identification process, sets these people up to powerfully re-enter the job market.
