CALLAHAN ON-LINE 2348 views USA
There's absolutely nothing funny about a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. Unless, of course, that person is John Callahan. For nearly a decade, this irreverent cartoonist has been shocking America with his own special brand of wicked humor. In the world of Callahan, nothing is sacred, nothing is taboo and nothing is funnier!

It was a Saturday night in Indianapolis, and Morty’s Comedy Joint was at capacity for the finals of Trial by Laughter, the club’s annual stand-up competition. The field, which once featured 30 up-and-coming comedians from all over the Midwest, had been narrowed to eight, when Lucas Waterfill rolled onto the stage and into the spotlight.

DALE ELLIOTT 3129 views AUST
Dale Elliott is not one to sit down and take life as it comes. A commercial pilot, businessman, comedy performer and extreme sport enthusiast, Dale lives and breathes his message. He does this all from his mobile launch pad commonly called a wheelchair. In 2002 Dale became a paraplegic after a freak motorbike accident and after only 60 of his planned 150 days in hospital was back at work! Dale put his knowledge as a commercial pilot and licenced aircraft engineer to good use but realised he needed something more, he felt an extreme desire to challenge himself again. In October 08, Dale became the first paraplegic in Australia & NZ to free fall skydive solo and land unassisted.

EUREKA FREEDOM WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE TENT website
Spring is here and as the days get warmer so the need to go out and sleep in a field gets stronger, at least for some. Camping is the holy grail of wheelchair adventures, getting out and traveling wherever you want, pitching a tent and sleeping wherever you want to. Sure you can pack light and spend your nights crammed into a tiny single pole affair with barely enough room to do anything. But if you dont mind extra wieght, or have that team of sherpas to carry things for you, then the Freedom tent from Eureka is perfect for the wheelchair camper looking to do things with a little more style, and comfort. Watch this short YouTube video on the setup of the tent.

BJOERN ESER & 'THE ACTIVE AMPUTEE' website
I am Bjoern Eser, the creator of The Active Amputee. I am a father of three amazing children, a husband to an equally amazing wife, a thankful cancer survivor, an outdoor enthusiast, a passionate development practitioner and a very active above-the-knee amputee.
I have set up The Active Amputee as a resource page from amputees for amputees. It aims to inform, it aims to inspire and it aims to engage. Nothing more and nothing less. It‘s as simple as that.
At the moment The Active Amputee publishes a new post once a week.

LONELY PLANET ACCESSIBLE TRAVEL PHRASEBOOK website
All travellers will get more out of their trip by being able to speak a few words of the local language, but for people with a disability it’s often vital to be able to explain your particular needs. Since standard phrasebooks are unlikely to contain the language you need to talk about needs around disability we’ve gathered together some disability-specific words and phrases and translated them into as many different languages as we practically could. Although things are slowly changing for the better, there are still plenty of barriers to travel for people with a disability – language doesn’t have to be yet another.

JAIMEN HUDSON - 'THE VIEW IS BETTER FROM UP HERE!' website
I have always been passionate about the outdoors, as a youth my days were filled with activities like riding dirt bikes, skateboarding, surfing and scuba diving. Learning to dive at age 10 only added to my love of the ocean. In 2008 I had an accident that left me a quadriplegic and in 2014 I became interested in drone photography and videography, although I wasn't sure I would be able to use the remote controller due to my reduced hand function. Since then though I've been lucky to have my work featured in many prominent media outlets and publications and have also won the Western Australia 'Young Achiever Award' in 2018. I hope you enjoy what you see...!
