ARTS - SCULPTORS
INDIVIDUALS | An excellent profile on Peter (C5 complete quadriplegia) and in particular how a modified vehicle has enabled him even greater independence and participation in home, family, work and community life. Brief features on his raised garden bed and welding/sculpture skills. Genius at work! |
| Alistair Green and myself, Garry Curry, are quadriplegic stone sculptors. Alistair has a C four incomplete injury and I am a C five complete 87%. in July 1991 both in our early 20s.
At the start we spent a year in rehab together learning how to cope with such a devastating injury. After a year in rehab we managed to be able to feed ourselves and brush our teeth. After rehab we have designed many devices to make life and art accessible.
We started sculpting in 1995 beginning with small sculptures designed as Christmas and birthday gifts. The response from family and friends gave us confidence and this grew with every sculpture we created. Our next goal was to find studio space so we could create an accessible workstation with a dust controlled environment. |
| Peter Worsley is a true craftsman who has developed his skills and utilised various eqipment as he welds an array of "industrial" art. The following video profile on Peter was funded by Accessible Arts Aust. who also contributed toward equipment additions in his workshop. Peter had a C5 complete spinal injury some 30 yrs ago. |
